Plant Manager Manufacturing Facility, Maglev 2000 of
Florida Corporation
Mr. Ed Harmer is in charge of development for Maglev 2000's manufacturing
facility, and serves as Plant Manager. He joined the Brookhaven
National Labs (BNL) in 1974 as a machinist in the Heavy Machine
Shop. A summary of his responsibilities at BNL follows:
· 1977 - 1981 Supervisor of the Electron Beam Welding and Radioactive
Machine Shops;
· 1981 - 1986 First Line Supervisor of the Heavy Machine Shop;
· 1986 - 1990 General Supervisor responsible for 2 machine shops,
Welding shop, Sheet-metal shop, Electron Beam Welding shop, and
Radioactive shop;
· 1990 - 1998 Assistant Manager Central Shops Division with an
annual budget of $4 million with primary responsibility for Division
production facilities, ensure timely delivery of departmental SLR's,
development of production schedules including monitoring progress,
plus Division Manager of Central Shops.
